Bob's obituary
Robert Carl Barrett (Bob), age 87, born July 24th, 1938, passed away on January 14th, 2026, at 2 a.m. from pneumonia at Otterbein Rehab in Lebanon, Ohio, with Margie, his wife of 64 years at his bedside.
Bob was born in Hamilton, Ohio, the son of Samuel and Martha Barrett. He attended Morehead State University in Kentucky where he met and married his wife Margie Howard. He had a long and successful career as a math teacher at Princeton High School and as an adjunct professor at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio. He was respected and loved by both students and coworkers.
Bob was a gentle, selfless, and unassuming man with a wry sense of humor and a big smile. He was frugal with himself and graciously generous with Margie, his sons, and grandchildren. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to a friend or anyone in need. A good week for Bob would include reading several books from his extensive book collection, planting a tree or working in his yard, and watching a tennis match. He was proud of the 20 year badge he had received for serving as a volunteer at the Cincinnati Open Tennis Tournament in Mason, Ohio.
Bob is survived by his wife Margie, his sons Robert James Barrett (Melissa) and Gregory Howard Barrett, his grandchildren Emma Barrett, Jack Barrett, and Holly Barrett Truong (Matthew Truong).
