Robert's obituary
Robert Lee Brown Jr., 87, of Front Royal, Virginia passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at his home.
Bob was born on September 1, 1936 in Valparaiso, Indiana to the late Robert Sr. and Mildred Stephenson Brown. He retired from the Department of Defense and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Winchester and the Front Royal Community Band where he played trumpet.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Eunice Brown of Front Royal; two daughters, Tamara Brown of Fairfax, Virginia and Kirstin Bonner (Kirk) of Round Hill, Virginia; brother, Philip Brown of Bryant, Texas; sister, Kay Kielpikowski of Valparaiso, Indiana; four grandchildren, Adam (Rachelle), Korianne, Ashley (Jordan) and Kyle and six great grandchildren.
Robert Brown was very fond of his family, his wine and good ole Mr. Jack Daniels. He wanted to celebrate life to the fullest. He loved his wife immensely and together they traveled around the world. His favorite type of music was Jazz which led to his love of New Orleans. He loved baseball and basketball, but only college basketball because he would tell you the rule changes in professional basketball ruined the game. His teams were the New York Yankees and the Chicago Bears. To say Bob loved golf is probably an understatement and if he wasn't on the golf course he was probably at home with a glass of wine reading a murder mystery. James Patterson and Robert B. Parker probably bought a second house from the amount of books Bob bought. The Sunday paper, mostly the crossword puzzle and comics sections, were favorites of his and when he was finished he always slid the comics to Eunice.
