Robert Alden's obituary
Robert A. “Fritz” Davis, formerly of Indianapolis, IN and Seattle, WA, passed away October 8, 2022 in Port Charlotte, FL. He was born August 12, 1960 in Saginaw, MI to Richard A. and Sonia (nee Morck) Davis. He was a wonderful, devoted stepfather to Madison and Morgan, children of former spouse Paige Tabbert Davis.
Fritz attended Shortridge and Broad Ripple High Schools in Indianapolis, graduating in 1981. His post-secondary studies were in graphic arts in Ohio. Fritz loved illustration and had a keen talent for photography. He became immersed in the Seattle art scene, where his creativity flourished. He was an accomplished author of 4 volumes of Seattle Street Art: The Comet Wall, The Greyhound Wall, All City, and The Vogue Wall. Fritz learned the art of copper and woodcut printmaking alongside his father, which was a joy and treasured memory for him. He is remembered fondly as head locksmith at The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and The Northwest School, both in Seattle, WA. He also worked for Aasen Lock and Key in Indianapolis.
A celebration of life will be held at HomeRoom, 1101 E 54th St, Studio D, Indianapolis, IN 46220, on Thursday, November 10 at 5:30pm. Friends and colleagues may contribute to help cover costs.
