I knew Rob beginning in undergrad at ASU. We were fraternity brothers, roommates, groomsmen and co-dog parents (it was my fault). He was always a confidante and my best friend for years. We spent many days and nights together, critiquing, discussing life and the world but also many moments of quiet and peaceful companionship. Robby is one of the greatest, most endearing people I’ve known in my life. I respected, loved and cherished my time with him. When I consider my most formative and impactful relationships in my life, he is a part of that. I will miss him dearly. And I know he was an outstanding husband and father. It brings me joy he was able to experience that in his life. I was fortunate to meet his wife and much of his family. He was an extraordinary person and friend. Love, Kyle
Rob was a calm soul, shy at first, but instantly likeable. Respected by those lucky enough to have known him. Revered by his students. He was playful, linguistically gifted, quick witted. He never angered, he was embarrassingly conscientious and trustworthy to a fault. Most importantly, he shared in my hatred of CQ cafeteria food, yet he also had love for the place and its people. He always delivered on his promises and was one of the most reliable souls .to have crossed my path. Hamlet might as well have meant these words for Rob: "What a piece of work is a man, how noble in reason, how infinite in faculties, in form and moving how express and admirable;" I have not seen Rob since he left China, but I know the world is poorer without him.

Sending healing energy and strength to you and the boys
