Rita Ann Rooney, 82, of Buena Vista, Virginia passed away Friday evening October 13th, 2023 of natural causes. She was born January 23rd, 1941 in Allentown, Pennsylvania to Clarence and Gertrude Scherer.

Rita is survived by her husband of 60 years William Richard Rooney, her daughter Karen Lazo with her husband Albert Lazo, her son Kevin Rooney with his wife Dana Rooney and their children, Grayson and Devin, her son Brian Rooney with his wife Melissa Rooney and their children Sophia and Zane, and her daughter Kristin Davidson with her husband Steve Davidson and their son Daniel.

We celebrate Rita’s life of everlasting, unconditional love for her children, steadfast commitment to her husband with profound inner strength and passion for their lives together.
