Rita's obituary
In Loving Memory of Rita Ann Quesada
January 18, 1963 – August 8, 2025
Our beloved Rita Ann Quesada, 62, of Sacramento, California, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025. Born January 18, 1963, in Los Angeles, Rita lived a life full of love, laughter, and adventure.
Rita was a daughter, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, godmother, friend—and “Nana” to her treasured grandsons. She is survived by her mother, Jeanette Estrada; her children, Vincent Casarez, Mario Hernandez Jr., and Manuel Hernandez; her siblings, Michael and Paul Quesada; her grandchildren, Gabriel, Jacob, and Caleb; and beloved family dog, Pressure. She was preceded in death by her sister, Julie Quesada.
Rita had a gift for making life beautiful, both in the big moments and the little things. She loved dolphins, cheered passionately for the San Francisco 49ers, and was enchanted by Disney—especially Cinderella. She had a sweet spot for strawberries, could spend hours on puzzles, and lit up any dance floor she stepped on. Rita adored traveling, taking photos, and collecting knick-knacks that reminded her of life’s adventures. She was also a talented cook whose meals brought people together, and she found joy in helping others whenever she could.
To her grandsons—her “Nana’s boys”—she was a constant source of love, fun, and comfort. She was also known for her radiant smile, her upbeat spirit, and her unwavering fandom for Sylvester Stallone (Rocky).
Rita’s life was a beautiful reminder to live fully, love deeply, and treasure the small things. Her memory will live on in the countless hearts she touched.
We invite family and friends to share photos, memories, and stories here so we can celebrate the amazing life she lived and keep her spirit alive for generations to come.
