Animals meant a lot to Rita. She fostered numerous ailing animals back to health and several even become lifelong family pets. Rita was the embodiment of love and generosity especially when it came to animal welfare.

The mission of Best Friends is to end the killing in America's animal shelters and create a time when there are No More Homeless Pets. We do this by building community programs and partnerships all across the nation.

How are donations used?
Donations are used to make the biggest impact in ending the killing in America's shelters. This includes our major no-kill initiatives, funding our lifesaving centers, and grants to our Network Partner organizations.

What can be done with a $100 donation?
$100 helps provide six weeks of formula for an orphaned newborn puppy.
