We send you and your family our deepest sympathy at the loss of your much loved mother. Rita gave us a shining example of how to live - with grace, elegance and thoroughly engaged with life.

Brooks, Leon and myself are so broken hearted to have lost Nana. I am blessed to have known her for almost 10 years and got to celebrate many wonderful events and moments together (Nana and I loved to dress up, especially in costumes). I loved watching Nana enjoy Leon’s craziness, while he ran around and caused mischief, which she was happy to see. I will miss us discussing child rearing, as advice from a mother of 4 is always welcomed.
I am blessed to have known her, to have had wonderful talks and laughs. Having tea or cocktails, just being together. I will miss her kindness, support and her love.
We love you, Nana and will miss you always ❤️

I was deeply saddened to hear the news of Rita's passing. She was such a strong woman whose love and support enabled her husband and her children to become extremely successful in their chosen fields. Her elegance and sophistication are aspects of her character that I will always remember. Rita's devotion to her mother, to her husband, and to her children and grandchildren was exemplary. I know her memory will be cherished by all who had the very good fortune to be a part of her life.

Heartfelt condolences and love from the Edmonton Dixon family ( Wally, Mary Ann, Jonathan (Brittanny and Sam), and Alexandra (Brent McLean) to Ted, Lolly, Kevin, Shelley and Patrick (and the large and wonderful extended Gillen family). Rita was a "Grand" lady who will be greatly missed by all who knew her (thanks to Lolly, we reconnected again after many years through the family Zoom chats she organized).
May the love and comfort of family and friends bring you all some solace at this most difficult time.
Love,
The Dixons

My Nana (Rita) loved to play scrabble. I fondly remember summer evenings when she and Ted (Gran) would come out to visit us in Vancouver and sit on our back porch playing scrabble and drinking Martini's. These trips were very important to me, and I always treasured having them out with us. She was also a big reader and a great writer, who would write me handwritten letters when I was younger in military school. I love you Nana, you will be dearly missed.
