In lieu of flowers

Please consider a contribution to Help with funeral expenses for my mother Rita Engl.

Background

on December 29, 2023 at 12:47 AM cancer took another beautiful brave and fighting soul. My mother Rita Engle known in my neighborhood growing up as Mama Rita. Mother was diagnosed with lung cancer on Thanksgiving a 2022 therefore quickly after he started doing chemotherapy and radioactive therapy. my mother is always been a strong, strong person mentally and physically but she came home after those therapy treatments and was just worn out no appetite and spaced out of her mind and of course her hair started coming out so we shaved it off the whole yards of the cancer treatment that they have out there for the poor patients. We get into spring break time around April 2023 where she is become miserable and doesn't want to continue the chemotherapy whatsoever so I told her it's all about quality of life and if you don't feel very well from all this and it's not really gonna put a whole bunch of extra time on your , ETA out of this world I suggest you and whatever is right in your heart and discontinue then. Once she let the doctors know that she wanted to discontinue the therapy lovely found out that her cancer went into remission. but that wasn't for long two or three months cannot quite remember. She went back to the hospital and the little bitty cancer assholes "excuse my language" had returned and peppered all throughout her body different organs and what not! So me being her caregiver since 2020, I took on the job to take care of her unless and I would've done 1 million times again. In September 2023 they put her into hospice at home, who are the inevitable happen decline in her health she made it all the way through the holidays and Christmas Day and all the last couple weeks she was with us. She was in so much pain that it was definitely heartbreaking to hear her in agonizing pain every breath, she took, none of the morphine or any of the pain medicine that she was taking seem to touch it. She is a strong lady, and didn't really complain too much to the nurses, or to us, me and Dad and my beautiful wife, Kassidy, but we could tell that she was in super amount of pain. Unfortunately, my pops her husband, Lewis Engle fell in the end of October, to the beginning of November. Come from that was a broken hip, a fractured elbow and dislocated shoulder. Poor guy hurt himself real bad, and then he had to go to rehab, in fact, he is still at the rehab facility which is inside a nursing home. so he didn't get to see Mom, his wife more than four hours on Christmas Day, but that was enough for him to realize that she was in some severe pain and was slowly slipping away, and I told my father that with honor and respect. I will take care of everything from this point forward like I have been already so that way he doesn't have to see his wife in that form of fashion because I knew that killed him to see that but I'm just glad that they were able to hang out on Christmas day together and eat a little bit. unfortunately, long story short when she was diagnosed last year her in 2022 with the cancer, I immediately tried to find some life insurance for her to help cover cost of the funeral and cremation or whatever she was wanting to get done. unfortunately there wasn't much that could be done in that former fashion has a basically said that she needed to have the health insurance for years prior to the diagnosed of cancer. so here we are trying to raise some money to get her taken care of so she can be at her final resting place. unfortunately funeral costs are through the roof and they didn't make much living off from Social Security and everything that I put towards her medicine and food in the house and then anything else I can help with rent so we're just asking to raise up enough money to get that taken care of, and we surely appreciate anything and everything if there's any question please feel free to contact me directly via email at stnickstattoos@icloud.com, or feel free to text/call me at (682) 556-7557 thanks everyone in advance. Hope you're having a happy new year so far. Contribute   Right arrow
