Rinda Barnes Wilson Obituary

Rinda Barnes Wilson, age 75, of Mooresville, NC, formerly of Spindale, NC, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, NC.

A native of Rutherford County, Rinda was the daughter of the late Jack Barnes and late Sally Willis Barnes. Rinda was a longtime member at Southern Baptist Church where she played the piano for more than 30 years. She retired from the Rutherford County School System after teaching for 30 years. After Rinda's retirement, she worked at Isothermal Community College for a decade with the GED program, until she officially retired from teaching. Rinda never met a stranger, her friends were her family, and she was a devoted sister to one, Jackie Hardin. In addition to her parents, Rinda was preceded in death by her husband, G. A. Wilson.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Jason Harrill, and his wife Amy, of Troutman, NC, her grandchildren Presley Elizabeth Harrill, and Abigail Grace Harrill, Andrea Nicole McKeehan, and Anthony Cole McKeehan, great grandchild Samuel Niklaus Collier, her sister, Jackie Hardin, and her husband Marshall, her niece, Trisha Startup, and nephew, Todd Hardin.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 4, 2024, in the sanctuary at Southern Baptist Church. A celebration of life will be at Southern Baptist Church at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 4, 2024, with Reverend Peter Surran officiating. Interment will be private in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to, Southern Baptist Church Building Fund, 140 Church St, Rutherfordton, NC 28139, or First Baptist Church Bells Ministry in Mooresville, 150 South Church Street Mooresville, NC 28115. McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
