It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ricky "ZT" Watson on April 27, 2023. Born on August 6, 1958, Ricky was known to some as ZT, but he preferred to be called by his given name. He is preceded in death by his mother, Revia Watson; father, Zachary "Pete" Watson Jr.; grandsons Colby Watson and Riley Hickman; brother, Robert Watson; and sister, Saundra English.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Heather Dear and her husband Bryan, his granddaughter Brooklyn Dear, and grandchildren Briana, Bryan, and Colton Dear; son Brandon Watson and his wife Charity, his granddaughters Skylar Naukana and Courtney Watson, and his grandson Austin Watson; and son Zachary "ZT"  Watson III and his grandson Brantley Watson.

 A loyal and honest man, Ricky's favorite pastimes included telling his life stories to his family, and he took great pleasure in sharing lessons such as never giving up on the ones you love.

Among his many accomplishments, Ricky was a Golden Glove boxer and a home run leader at Driller Park in Kilgore, Texas in his high school years. A loving and loyal son, father, and friend, Ricky Watson will be deeply missed by his family and numerous friends. His memory will be cherished by those who knew him, and he will forever be remembered as one heck of a man.
