Ricky is survived by his precious daughters Roselynn Etter, step-daughters Sabrina, and Cris Cobb. His sons Dennis and Terry Etter, step-sons Justin and Josiah Cobb, remember him fondly, as do his son-in-law James Bradley. His love for his grandchildren knew no bounds; they include Rylee Etter, Rubina and Josie Cobb, Tyler Reddell, Owen Cobb, Mackenzie Strong, Lilyauna Cobb, and Eden Cobb.
His cousins, Lisa Ilges, Mike, Dan, and Janet Collins, survive him, mourning the loss of a deeply treasured member of their family. Ricky was predeceased by his dear father Robert Etter, his caring mother, Rosemary Etter, loving wife Libby Etter, and cousin Tom Collins. His loss is also keenly felt by his departed parents-in-law, Charlene, and Robert Cooper.
Ricky, aka Rick, had a deep fondness for simple pleasures. Chili, steak and baked potato, fried chicken, and spam sandwiches were among his favorite meals. Lively tunes by The Beatles, The Beach Boys and The Beastie Boys often filled his home, while shows like NCIS, Stargate, CSI and Star Trek brought him great joy. Ricky had a soft spot for the KC Chiefs, the KC Royals, and the ST. Louis Cardinals, and NASCAR but nothing could compare to the thrill he got from a good casino game. He was happiest when on a beach, with a Pepsi or Coke in hand.
Ricky loved to stay active and cherished his walks. A retired Navy Veteran and paramedic Ricky was nothing if not courageous, resilient, and always up for a challenge. His personality was vibrant, often described as stubborn, loving, and independent.
In fond memory of Ricky, a fund has been initiated for the "PTSD Foundation of America". Contributions may be made at the following URL: everloved.com/life-of/ricky-e…. In lieu of flowers, your generous donation would be greatly appreciated.
Ricky "Rick" Etter will be sorely missed, but forever cherished. His life has left an indelible imprint on our hearts; his accomplishments, his values, and his love will guide us for years to come. Rest in peace, Ricky. Your memory lives on.
