In Loving Memory of Rick Hardy

**September 6, 1954 – April 16, 2026**

Rick Hardy, a true son of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the age of 71.

Born on September 6, 1954, Rick was a lifelong resident of Kansas City and a man who lived his life to a steady, rhythmic beat. A talented and passionate drummer, he spent years behind the kit, leaving his mark on the local music scene and bringing rhythm into the lives of everyone who knew him.

Rick was a dedicated father to his two sons, Randall and Ricky. He shared a meaningful life with his long-time partner, the late Diane Calahan, and they took great pride in their family.

Rick has now gone to reunite with those he held dear. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Diane Calahan, who passed away on Mother’s Day in 2015, and his beloved son, Ricky Hardy, who passed in 2023.

He is survived by his son, Randall Hardy; his step-son, Myles Mcmillon and a community of friends and fellow musicians who will carry his memory in their hearts.

A celebration of Rick’s life and a final drum salute will be held at a later date in Kansas City.
