Rick's obituary
Rick Carr-Trumble, 64, passed away peacefully June 28, 2023 at St. Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute. He was born August 2, 1958 in Kansas City, KS, attended Washington High School and later Johnson County Community College.
Rick was a member of Christ Lutheran Church (Platte Woods, MO). We rejoice that he is with his Lord and Savior.
Rick began his career at Stone Container Corporation in 1976 as a truck driver and forklift operator. While the company changed hands (now WestRock Container Corporation), Rick remained a dedicated employee and, over the past 47 years, moved from a driver to transportation and logistics. His most recent position was Senior Manager, Regional Logistics.
Rick's family remembers him as a devoted husband, loving father, and the best Papa. He was the most kind and warm person who always put others before himself. Rick cared deeply about his family, work and craft. He constantly operated at 110% and always held himself and everything he did to the highest standard. His favorite place to be was the Lake of the Ozarks; driving his boat, slalom skiing behind it, and helping all the children and grandchildren enjoy the water! From motorcycles to cars, Rick enjoyed his toys and spending time in his one of a kind man cave working on custom built Corvettes and Harley Davidson motorcycles from scratch, for which he has many awards. Rick only sat still long enough to eat a meal and enjoy a glass of sweet tea; his work ethic and tenacity will forever be admired by his family, friends and colleagues.
He is survived by his wife, Diana Carr-Trumble of the home, children Krystina (Josh) Ehrlich, Mack (Sarah) Trumble, Erin Carr, Kenny (Dani) Carr, Amy (Jason) McCollum, Sarah (Colin) South, Andy (Lindsay) Benedict-Nelson, Jenny (Loren) White and grandchildren Hazel Ehrlich, Mila Lopez, Emma McCollum, Luke McCollum, August White, Louie White, and Rad Benedict-Nelson.
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation for the amazing care Rick received in the CICU at St. Luke’s Heart Institute. The care and concern showed to both Rick and the family was heartfelt and they will always have the family’s deepest gratitude.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donation to Christ Lutheran Church or St. Luke’s Hospital/Mid America Heart Institute.
Visitation at Christ Lutheran Church Sunday, July 2, 2023 at 3:30 P.M with funeral service and committal of ashes at 4:30.
