I am so sorry for his family. Gene and I served in the Marine Corps together in Japan. He was always fun to be around and we shared some good times!! My condolences on his passing!!  He was a good guy!!!
“Shazam” , everytime in high school when Gene had a great run or just playing recreational basketball making a basket. Shazam was his catchphrase.
So glad we got to reconnect after KU . We had a lot of fun times when me you and Jay lived together from doing our usual Tuesday night Levee nights to hear Sonny Kenner to playing cards to playing sports. Thanks for always being such a good friend . Thinking of you and all the people who love and miss you.

Quite yet expressive. Tender but strong. Easy yet complicated. Loving and Lovable. So thankful the spirit filled conversations and moments we shared..Though his presence is certainly missed, It’s a blessed assurance to know Gene took flight and landed where he worked and desired to go. Today we celebrate Gene now lives in his Heavenly home.
Gene you were always one of the first people I would look for at CR. You always made me feel welcome and we never failed to have good conversations. Gene you were a great friend and I'm looking forward to seeing you again in glory.

I ran with Gene in college and he was one of a kind, to say the least. Gene was a great friend and person that helped elevate all those around him to be better people. I had some of the best times of my life with him as a true friend and he will be missed beyond anything that can be posted. May peace be with those immediate loved ones and all those that were touched by Gene in their lives.
I’m heartbroken to hear you’re gone my brother. You were always a best friend I could count on, always there if I needed anything during our 35 year friendship. From high school, to getting together in college, to you moving into my house after college, to you moving in again while getting settled after coming home from the marines, to making time to get together as we grew older, you‘ve been an important part of my life. I’m really thankful we got to hang out several times the past couple years. You will be so greatly missed, love you brother!

Deepest sympathies to Gigi, Zander, Cindy and all the family.
I ran Cross Country and track with Gene. In between Cross Country and track seasons, we would run together in the winter. Also many times after school, Gene, Peter Bui and I would stay and play basketball. A great friend!!
My deepest Sympathies to the family, you are in my prayers. I had the honor of serving with Gene in the United States Marine Corps. We attended MOS school (0481) together and went to Okinawa Japan from there where for a short time he was my roommate. I will never forget our first run with our Company 1st Sgt. Gene almost wore him out. He will truly be missed. Semper Fi Brother, Rest in Peace.
I met Gene when he came to Baker University to run cross country and track and joined the ZX fraternity. I have fond memories of Gene from those days and remember what a tough runner he was. Very sorry that he has passed.
I first met Gene 5 1/2 years ago at Lenexa Baptist Church. I'd see him every Friday. We talked a lot. We were in the same groups and even had one of the classes together. He was a great friend. And I will miss him so much. He was always there for me and others. He was a man of God. He was such a support for me. My wife and I will miss him dearly.
