Richard's obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Richard "Pudgy" Sides, known fondly to many as simply Pudgy, but who preferred Richard. Born on June 16, 1971, Richard lived a full and vibrant life until his passing on November 17, 2024.

Richard's love for life was only surpassed by the love he had for his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Darlene Sides, his father Robert Sides, and his mother Madeline Greenwood. Richard was a cherished brother to Bobby Sides and Cheryl Picconi and a proud father to his children Crystal Weiss, Richard Sides, and Dominic Baum.

He was a devoted and playful grandfather who cherished his moments with his grandchildren Xavier Suarez, Robert Suarez, McKayla Vanhorn, GG Vahorn, Emma Vanhorn, Sophia Vahorn, and Chase Transvarinni.

In 2020, Richard began a fulfilling job at AAA Dumpster & Fencing. His favorite colors mirrored the vastness of the sky and the depth of the sea - blue. His favorite foods were simple yet loved, like chip and dip. His preferred drinks were water and Gatorade, staying hydrated whether at work or play.

Music played a big role in Richard's life, with 'Cross My Heart' by George Strait as his most beloved tune. He was a loyal supporter of the Eagles sports team and enjoyed playing engaging games like 'Pop the Pig'. Outdoor recreational activities like spending time on the beach or camping were his go-to relaxation methods.

Richard's favorite vacation spot was Key Largo. His compassion for others was evident in the causes he cared for, including the SPCA and cancer research. Known for his outgoing personality, he was always ready to lend a helping hand. His infectious laughter was one of a kind and will be deeply missed.

Richard leaves behind a legacy of kindness and love. He touched countless lives with his generous spirit and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

In memory of Richard, reach out with kindness to others, appreciate the simple things in life, and let your laughter echo in the hearts of those you love.
