Dick's obituary
Richard W. Robinson, 90, of Wausau, died Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Wausau Manor, under the care of Aspirus Hospice.
Dick was born to the late Floyd and Margaret (Bussey) Robinson on July 29, 1934 in Minneapolis, MN. He grew up in Minnetonka and Hibbing, MN where sports were his passion. He was the tenth of fourteen children.
Dick met his wife Carol while working at Minneapolis Moline and married on July 25, 1961. They raised their family in Hopkins, Minn. and retired in Wausau, Wis. in 2003 as active members of St. Andrew Lutheran Church.
Dick shared his passion for baseball by coaching several American Legion teams, bringing many championship trophies home. Always a Minnesota fan, he enjoyed season tickets to Gopher football, the North Stars hockey and watched football, baseball, basketball and hockey whenever he could.
He was an active Blood Donor for many years and retired from Advance Machine of Spring Park, MN where he was a machinist.
Survivors include his five daughters, Wendy Ahlstrom, St. Francis, MN, Shelly Clapshaw, Port Angeles, WA, Theresa (Robb) Shepherd, Wausau, WI, Tracy (Dale) Flowers, Apopka, FL, Cindy Robinson, Minneapolis, MN; 18 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; and sister Sharon (Larry) Smoots.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Carol; their son, Christopher; twelve siblings, parents, extended family and friends.
The family thanks Aspirus Hospice, Wausau Manor, Applegate Terrace and Athenian living for their care and compassion, along with the Veterans Administration whose support was immeasurable.
