It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Richard Vilhauer on December 30, 2023. Born on November 11, 1950, Richard graced the world with his charisma, wit, and profound goodness for 73 years. A man who wore many hats, Richard was known for his Willie Nelson hair, phenomenal beard, and his profound ability for fix any car.... one day.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Sheila Swofford, daughter Tiffiney Krebs, sons Doug Cooper, and cherished grandchildren – Eric Weathers, Tiarra and Kyren Karrer, Cherish-Ann Krebs, Hunter, Fisher, Ember, Heather Cooper and Great granddaughter Addie Griffith .His love and wisdom will eternally resonate with every soul he interacted with.

Richard was an Aerosmith-loving, Law & Order-watching, fishing enthusiast with a knack for repairing cars. He got the greatest joy out of taking on Goodwill treasure hunting adventures. His favorite color was blue.  He was kind, caring, with an optimistic outlook and a witty sense of humor that could lighten even the gloomiest room.

His dedication to his family was evident in everything he did. His love was most notably shown for his great-granddaughter, Addie. Richard not only passed down his mechanical acumen to his son, but also a profound life lesson: mastery is not limited to just one craft. Richard was a great cook, turning the simplest ingredients into heartwarming meals, a testament to his secret ingredient – love.

We invite those who shared in Richard's journey to a celebration of his life on February 10, 2024, at 12:00 pm .The Lord's Gym, Vancouver. (Old Uncle Milts on Grand in Vancouver)We will cherish his memory through stories, laughter& tears.
