Richard's obituary
Richard Harrison Tinney
October 10, 1948 – January 6, 2025
Rich dedicated his life to education and service. He taught at Hayes Elementary School for 37 years, shaping the minds of countless students. Even after retiring, his passion for teaching led him to continue his work at the Lorain County Detention Home for six more years. Beyond his professional life, Rich cherished traveling with his family and was deeply involved in his church and ministry, where he found great joy and purpose.
Rich’s unwavering faith and kind spirit left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered—family, church members, colleagues, students, and friends alike. His legacy of love and encouragement will be remembered by all who knew him. Those close to him take comfort in the belief that he has heard the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Rich will be greatly missed, but we are so thankful he is free from suffering and with his Savior.
Rich is survived by his wife of 42 years, Yvonne Tinney; his sons Stephen and Nathan Tinney; his daughter Kristin Loosli (Caleb); and his grandson Rhys Loosli.
