Richard's obituary

Richard John Tibbenham was born on July 3rd, 1949 in Luton, Bedfordshire, England and passed away on October 7th, 2022 in Plano, Texas.

Growing up just outside Stratford-upon-Avon, he attended the West House School in Birmingham, England, Denstone College in Uttoxeter, and Bromsgrove College in Worcestershire.

After college, he moved to Birmingham and started a career as a Chartered Surveyor. This led to his ultimate profession of Commercial Real Estate Appraisal, which he worked in for almost 50 years.

At 24 years of age, Richard married his first wife, Hilary Ann Storr in 1973. They divorced in 1978 with no children.

After his first divorce, he moved to Dallas, Texas in 1978 to work at Hunsicker Appraisal Co., Inc., eventually becoming Vice President of the company and attaining the MIA membership designation from the Appraisal Institute.

In Dallas, he met and married Marilyn ‘Maxi’ Wayne Walker in 1980. They moved to El Centro, California and O’ahu, Hawaii while she was in the Navy. Eventually moving back to Dallas, in 1984, they had one son, Matthew Tibbenham. They divorced in 2017, yet remained friends, and eventually reconnected, living together until his passing.

He enjoyed traveling, photography, and watching sports including American and British football, Formula One, and WWE Wrestling. He also avidly collected stamps, porcelain figurines, British memorabilia, and David Winter miniature cottages and castles.

Richard was predeceased by his parents Aubrey William Tibbenham and Margaret Beatrice Plasom.

He is survived by son Matthew Tibbenham, daughter-in-law Becky Tibbenham, and ex-wife Marilyn "Maxi" Wayne Walker.
