Richard Swiatkowski, 83, of Escondido, CA, peacefully passed away on June 28, 2023 after an extended illness.

Born in Trenton, NJ to parents Henry and Stephanie Swiatkowski, he was their second son. Henry (Hank) Swiatkowski, Richard's brother, was their first-born.

Richard grew up in Trenton and graduated from Trenton High School. He joined the Air Force and served as a Corpsman (Medic) for four years. He attended Ryder College and graduated from Washington University with a master’s degree in finance/accounting. He went on to have a successful career in the financial sector.

Richard met his wife, Joan, through mutual friends and they were married in Toms River, NJ in 1964. The couple had just celebrated 59 years of marriage.

Richard and Joan had three beloved children, Janine, David, and Keith. Richard put family first, always, and was a dedicated, strong, kind, loving, and supportive father. He led his family in their leisure pursuits through travel, sports, and church.

The Swiatkowski family lived in New Jersey, Kansas, and California, where Richard established his family's roots for the past 20+ years.

Richard enjoyed spending time with his family, playing golf, volunteering at golf tournaments with his daughter, and running marathons and half marathons.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; brother, Hank; daughter, Janine; sons, David and Keith; his grandchildren, Kelly, Korrie, Nicole, Joel, and Jacob.
