Richard Alan Sweitzer, age 61, of Rock Springs, Wyoming passed away May 4, 2022.  Rick is survived by his mother, Maurine Lee, two brothers, Jim Sweitzer and Mike Sweitzer, three sisters, Kandis Rausch, Kerri Delorme, and Kristi Sweitzer, along with twenty nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Sweitzer, and brother, Dan Sweitzer.  Rick was also the Godfather to Alicia Hardig.  

Rick grew up in Arizona and Southern Utah where he attended Cortez High School.  After graduating from Northern Arizona University, Rick received his PhD in Wildlife Biology from Reno, Nevada.  Rick worked as a wildlife biologist for over 35 years and recently worked for Great Basin Institute out of Reno, Nevada.  He most recently lived in Rock Springs, Wyoming where he enjoyed the outdoors.  He tried to live life to the fullest.  He loved spending time with his dog, Cody, and fishing as much as he could. 

Our family is grateful to know that Rick has reunited with his father and older brother on a lake somewhere in Southern Utah laughing and sharing their favorite fish stories.  There are no services or memorial scheduled at this time.
