Background
In 2007, Dick founded Wheels For Kids with the idea to get more kids on bikes (https://www.azwfk.org/about-us) Specifically, the organization’s purpose is to collect used bikes, completely overhaul them, ensure they work well, look good and are safe to operate – and then, through its partner charitable organizations, give them to low income, distressed, or underprivileged kids, teens and adults in greater Tucson. In 2013 it became incorporated as a 5.01(c)(3) nonprofit. Since its inception, Wheels For Kids has collected, refurbished, and distributed over 3,700 bikes.
