Back to school season is reminding me of dad this year.As we do our supply shopping and look for new clothes for school and school photos, I remember the Saturday shopping trips over summer where we'd spend the whole day running route the blue light specials a K-mart, or roll-backs at Walmart, trying on outfit after outfit, getting things
slightly too large (need room to grow), and then going to the back of the store to wait in line for the layaway counters. Shop early, pay it off and come September we'd go get a huge pile of clothes for the new year! And it was basically free!! I mean...we weren't there for all the payments he made, so it seemed like it to us!My oldest is starting his Senior year, and I'm getting ready for fancy schmancy senior pics and so sad I don't get to send dad a big ol' pile of photos to frame and showcase his #1 Grand Son on his wall. It's a bittersweet year this year, as we remember the fun things, and lament him missing out on the first of many milestones for the grandkids. It's funny, as a kid life was so slow, and now as a parent it's just going way to fast. But the neat thing is, all these years dad has been putting so many blessings and riches on layaway in Heaven, and now he's getting to pick it all up for free-paid in full by Jesus-and enjoy the fruits of his labor here on Earth! Certainly can't begrudge him the mansion with a yard he can beautify to God's glory <3

So sorry for your loss. As a customer of #1 Plumbing, I always enjoyed talking to Richard. He had a remarkable sense of humor and patience. He is missed.

I used to love coming to spend the night with Melissa because Richard would always have the dining room table set so nicely and have a wonderful meal for us girls to enjoy and you could just tell he loved hosting. His house was always spotless and so inviting!!!

I really can't say enough about Richard.
He was kind. He made me feel welcomed here from day one. His customer care and service is second to none! He was a mentor and a leader and his inspiring words (Richardisms) will be remembered and valued here as a standard on how to be a professional for years and years to come. We were blessed to have known him.

A great friend and colleague. He will forever be remembered by his “Richardisms” and his “Yes We Can!” attitude.

Richard got me into the business many years ago. He hired and fired me, I hired and fired him. Through it all we remained friends. I will miss our breakfast meetings.
