Richard's obituary

Richard J. Stack  02/10/1934 - 03/02/2023

Richard J. Stack passed into eternal rest with his loved ones by his side. 

He was predeceased by his Father Patrick Stack and mother Genevieve Stack. He was predeceased by his wife Barbara A. Stack.  He was also survived by his children. Richard and Patricia  Stack, Carolyn Stack, Brian and Kathleen Stack,  Amy Stack and his youngest daughter Kathleen Stack as well as many nieces,nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was also survived by his brothers and sisters.

Patrick Stack, Genevieve and Bob Casler, Colleen and Jack Quinn, Lynn Stack, Cynthia and Bill May,Mickey Stack, and Edward Stack.

Richard was born in Albany in 1934 .  

He proudly served in the National Guard until family obligations called and he was honorably discharged. He  managed several grocery stores including the A&P and Grand Union. Following that he became the Senior Storeroom clerk at Albany County Jail and Albany County Nursing home. 

Richard was an avid sports fan of Siena basketball, RPI hockey and of course as everyone knew his favorite sport horseracing. He enjoyed his final meet at Saratoga this last summer with his beloved daughter Carolyn. He liked being "one of the guys" with the Courtesy Market Crew and threw many  legendary Christmas Eve Parties. 

He lit up every room he entered and was a very charismatic man with a one of a kind personality. 

He will be dearly missed.

Services will be held at VI Grotto located on Yates Street and Ontario Street in Albany,NY on Friday March 10 from 330 to 6 pm. Prayer will be held at 4pm officiated by Father Charles of Blessed Sacrament Church
