Rick's obituary

Richard Glen Sprague, born November 21, 1953, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at home on November 15, 2025.

Rick was proceeded in death by his wife, Patricia (Weisgerber) Sprague. They celebrated 45 years of happy marriage on May 17, 2020, just a few short months before Patty passed away. Rick was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. As a lifelong Midwesterner, he loved the outdoors, fishing, and a good bonfire. He was proceeded in death by his parents James and Ethel (Sabisch) Potts; his siblings, Earl Sprague, Micheal Sprague, J.W. (Betty) Potts and Libby (Ben-Living) Burell; his brother-in-laws, Raymond Cochrane and David Weisgerber; his nephews, Douglas Cochrane and Sean Sprague. He is survived by his children Janet Kowalewski (Michael Johnson Jr.), Theresa Sprague (Gordon Myers), Randy (Christina) Sprague, Diana Thornburgh (Steven McLane), and Richard Sprague Jr. (Riane Griffin). His siblings; Leah (David) Johnson, Armanda (Bill) Daily,  Debrah (Thomas) Gunn, Dwain (Tammy) Potts, Robert (Rhonda) Potts, Patricia (Waymon-deceased) Lovell, and Lawanda (Randall) Titshaw. Rick was a dedicated family man and leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and a whole lot of nieces and nephews. Since his illness Rick had focused on quality time with those he loved, and he will be greatly missed.

Please join us for a Graveside Service on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 11am to be held at Meade Cemetery 24350 26 Mile Rd, Macomb, MI 48042. A Celebration of Life Luncheon will follow immediately after at the Amvets Post 52 located at 51285 County Line Rd. New Baltimore, MI. 48047.
