Richard was a significant contributor to the success of AMI. He was in a role where he could provide assistance and direction to younger people in the organization. 

On behalf of the AMI family we are sorry for the loss of a man that provided support and encouragement to so many in our company.

I keep thinking about the Thanksgiving Turkey Trot 10K we ran together. You were always the better athlete, and I remember telling you that you could go on ahead. You just smiled and said, “We will finish this together.” That meant more to me than you probably ever knew. Now this feels like our final project together, and I will miss you more than words can say.

I have always tried to make you proud. But I remember when Zowie was born, you stood beside me in the hospital, kissed my forehead, and said, “It does not matter how much money you have or what type of degrees, your children will always be your greatest accomplishment.” Those few words changed how I view life, and I carry them with me every day.

I always knew you were just a phone call away in an emergency. There were so many times you showed up without hesitation. I remember calling you years ago from the hospital when Zowie needed emergency surgery on her elbow. You immediately jumped into action and took care of my other two girls so I could focus on her. I also remember calling you from Orlando, completely panicked, because Marley was having medical issues. Despite all the hair she shed, you went to the house, picked her up in your truck, and took her to the vet for me. You checked on her for weeks afterward and always called her your “granddog.”

You loved smoking the Thanksgiving turkey, always trying to get it just right. It wasn’t just about the food; it was about taking care of everyone, making the day special, and doing it with intention and pride. Those moments will always feel like you to me.

Thank you for walking beside me, for answering every call, and for teaching me what it means to show up. I will carry you with me in every step, just like that race...together, always.
