Richard's obituary
A rosary will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at 6 pm with visitation to follow. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 10 am on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, with interment to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Richard was born on October 29, 1942, to James Achord and Helen (Gould) Slattery in Chicago IL. . He enjoyed hunting, fishing, country music, and playing his guitar.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters and one brother.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Ramona Aguirre Achord; sons, Richard J. Achord, Jr., and Eric W. Achord and wife Janelle Slattery.; Granddaughter Stephanie Slattery and grandson Matthew Slattery. two brothers and one sister.
