Richard Allen “Rick” Bales II (“Hollywood”)
February 11, 1964 – April 23, 2025
Richard Allen Bales II, known to many as Rick or “Hollywood,” passed away on April 23, 2025, surrounded by love and lasting memories.
Born February 11, 1964, he was the son of the late Richard Allen Bales and Margret Bales. He is survived by his sisters, Dody Mariscotti and Vikki Bales Tory; his children, Jacob Richard Bales, Casey Booth, and David Byrd; daughter-in-law Lindsey Bales; and his grandchildren, Jacob Richard Bales II, Clayton Booth, and Carson Byrd.
Rick had a deep love for Harley-Davidsons, was a certified dive master, a gun enthusiast, and a master mechanic known around town for his unmatched skills. He was crew chief of The New Breed, a professional mud racing team that won a national championship, and later led race car team “Team Roxxie” across the country.
Known for his stubborn heart, generous spirit, and larger-than-life presence, Rick would give the shirt off his back even if he didn’t have one. His legacy of loyalty, love, and horsepower will live on through those who knew and loved him. He passed away after courageously battling a terminal genetic disease known as Gerstmann-Sträussler-Scheinker syndrome (GSS).
