Richard's obituary

It is with profound sorrow that we announce that Richard Ortiz Jr., affectionately known as Richie, passed away on July 2, 2023.

Born on June 27, 1985, Richie graced our lives with his generous spirit, infectious laughter, and quick wit; he could be quite a smart ass sometimes.

As a 3 year old, anytime he would see a camera he would say, "CHEESE!" with a giant smile on his face. And when his Grandmother watched Jeopardy, he would drop everything and run to dance to the theme song in front of the TV.

His humor was a big part of him; he loved making people laugh. He also loved music, being outside in the sun, playing tennis, hiking, and playing with his son Clark at the beach, the lake, the zoo, or trick or treating.

Richie loved Halloween and was an avid fan of the movie Chucky. It scared him as a child but he saw it for the fun it was later.

He relished cheering for the Ravens football team.

Richard is survived by his loving mother Kristine Ann Ortiz; his sons Anthony Alan Clark, Alexander Jay Ortiz-Sedy, and Clark Cameron Ortiz; his ex-wife, Alexandra Ortiz; his cherished aunt Debbie Hampton; and many more aunts, cousins, family, and friends.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Richard's family and friends. His laughter, kindness, and jovial spirit will forever remain in our hearts, and echo through the lives of those he touched. May his legacy continue to inspire us to live our lives with generosity, humor, and happiness.
