Background
Our father Richard Molina passed away on June 4th, 2022 leaving behind his wife, 4 daughters and 9 grand children. Our dad was a kind and generous man, always willing to help others, always here for his kids and grandkids no matter what. He was an amazing musician and that was his true passion. He was born in Detroit, but grew up in Chicago and that was where his heart was always. He met our mother there, he learned to play blues guitar there, had all 4 of his kids there, but moved to the PNW in the 80s to make our mom happy. He worked hard our whole lives but with 4 kids my parents just never were financially ahead. On top of everyday struggles our mother got early onset dementia in her 50s and was no longer able to work or contribute financially. Our father took on the brunt of her care until he couldn't anymore and we had to find my mother full time care just over a year ago. He would have taken care of her until they both died if he could have, his love for her was unlike anything I've seen, but his health also began to decline significantly and between us all we just couldn't keep up with everything. We want nothing more than to celebrate our fathers life the way he would want it and that's with all the people he loved, all his musician friends and all the people that knew and loved him. As difficult as it is to ask, unfortunately our parents have nothing left and all of us kids are just getting by raising our kids and taking care of our own livelihoods, so here we are. We want to send our dad out properly and every donation helps big or small. We love and appreciate everything so much and thank you for your support.
