Richard “Dick” McGraw of Memphis, TN, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at his childhood home. He is survived by his daughters, Merissa and Jessica, his grandchildren, Lillian and Nolan, and his brother Don “Bubba” McGraw.

Richard grew up in Whitehaven, where he attended Fairley High School, and then went to Memphis State, where he graduated magna cum laude. He had a strong love for his hometown, where he enjoyed cheering on his Memphis Tigers, playing guitar, enjoying a game of golf “swack,” and being with family and lifelong friends.

Richard may have had some struggles, but he was one of a kind. He lived life to his fullest and left us with memorable stories to relive our shared times. He loved music, especially The Beatles, sports, cold old Milwaukee beer and double shots of Jack Daniels. He would do anything to help a friend in need and even took a few in over the years that needed a place to live. He had a soft spot in his heart for animals and adopted a couple stray dogs, loving them as one would love a child. He made everyone who knew him laugh, cry, and sometimes scratch their heads at all the stories he shared.

Our family is grateful to know that Richard is finally at peace.He is now reunited with Melissa, his wife of 34 years (at her passing), Evelyn and Pete McGraw, his loving parents, and the countless friends he has lost over the years.

Services will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery with a date still to be determined. More information is to come, all are welcome to join.
