Richard Lara passed away on January 17, 2025 at 1:30 am in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on June 29, 1958, in Temple, Texas.

Richard was a generous soul who found great fulfillment in helping others. He dedicated much of his time to feeding the homeless alongside his brothers and sisters at St. Luke’s, serving with his brothers in the Knights of Columbus and always willing to lend a hand wherever needed.

Richard is survived by his mother, Juanita Lerma Lara; brothers, David Lara, Cleo Lara Jr., Joe Lara, and Anthony Luna; sister, Celia Guzman; children, Richard Jason Lara, April Lara Durbin, and son in law, Michael Durbin. He is preceded in death by his father, Cleophas Lara.

A graveside service will be held at 11 am on February 21, 2024, at North Belton Cemetery.
