Richard's obituary

Richard Douglas Lamberson

1950 –2025

Richard Douglas Lamberson was born to Vinie Lee and Joseph F Lamberson on May 23, 1950, in South Pittsburg, TN.  He was the one and only son from their union.  He departed this life on October 7, 2025.

Richard was educated in Tennessee Public Schools and graduated from South Pittsburg High School. He then joined the United States Navy on September 3, 1968 during the Vietnam War.  He was honorably discharged two years later to San Diego, CA.

Richard moved to Boston, MA to join his cousin where he remained until his death. Richard worked as an Orderly, and then became a Surgical Instrumentation Technician for Boston University Hospital.  He did this while he attended University of Massachusetts, (Boston). Richard left Boston University Hospital and went to work as a supervisor in the Operation Room at Tufts Medical Center’s Floating Hospital. He would be overseeing all the technicians on the 3-11 shift.  He also taught upcoming technicians at Dimock Community Health Center, while working full time.  Later on Richard then took on the challenge to become an apprentice in HVAC at Tufts Medical Center until he became disabled in 1993.

Richard spent the last 15 years of his life under the care of Neville Center Nursing Home at Fresh Pond in Cambridge.

He was preceded by the death of both parents (Vinie 2002 and Joseph 1992).  He leaves to mourn his one and only son, Richard D. Brown, daughter-in-love Kimberly, granddaughter Aurora, and the mother of his son, Cynthia Brown, as well as a host of relatives and friends.
