Dick Kraut was a professional colleague, mentor, and friend. He recruited me from Boston to Montefiore’s Department of Dentistry with an offer I couldn’t refuse, and we collaborated for his last dozen years at Monte training residents and improving the dental health and quality of life for hundreds of patients. My sincere condolences to Jeremy and all of Dick’s family. RIP Dr. Kraut, you will not be forgotten.
A great friend of mine. An educator, dedicated father, husband and military officer. It is with my greatest respect that I try in Vain to say goodbye to

My condolences to Richard's family. I first met Richard when, during my time at Montefiore Medical Center as a Prostodontic Resident and then on faculty with him. Dr. Kraut was my inspiration to becoming a Surgical Prosthodontist and I was his right hand whenever he needed something done yesterday.  I will always cherish the times we spent together and will tell MONTE stories with future students.  I will never forget his voice. HEYYYY ANTHONYYYY,  I need a denture by tomorrow. My response was always, GOT IT , but in the back of my mind, I was always trying to figure out how I was going to get it done within 24 hours. We made things work as a team together and we treated people not patients. I thank him for all the surgical education he provided me and my sincere condolences to his family that he cherished so much.

once again, my sincere condolences to his family

   Dr. Anthony LaVacca
