Richard's obituary
Peacefully and surrounded by family, Richard John Myers, known to many as Rik, passed away on February 5, 2026 in Saratoga Springs, New York, at the age of 68.
Born on June 3, 1957, in Albany, New York, to Kenneth and Eileen Myers. Rik was a fun-loving, adventurous soul with a big heart and an even bigger sense of humor. He had a gift for making people laugh and feel at ease, often with his goofy humor and easy smile. If there was a next adventure to be found, he was already on his way — and usually inviting others along for the ride.
Rik grew up working for his family’s construction business, Myers’s Home Builders, where he learned the value of hard work early on. In his younger years, he found a love for racing and carried that fearless, competitive spirit with him both on and off the track.
Always on the move, Rik spent parts of his life living and traveling in Florida and Tennessee; collecting stories, friendships, and memories along the way. In his later years, he lived and worked in New York, where he reconnected with old friends and family. No matter the distance, he stayed in close contact with his daughter and granddaughter through frequent phone calls and visits whenever possible.
Preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Eileen Myers, and his sister, Laurie Myers.
He is survived by his daughter, Allison Robinson (John); his granddaughter, Alexandra Robinson; his sister, Linda DiMaggio, his brothers, Kenneth, Steve, and Ronald Myers (Candace); his nephew, Michael Riscica; his nieces, Logan Pintka, Jenny Piscitelli, Katy Reedal, and Kristen Myers.
A memorial service will be held at William J. Burke & Sons Funeral Homes on February 21, 2026 at 12pm to 3pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to help with memorial expenses. Your kindness and support means more than words can express.
