Background
Hello everyone,
My dad, Richard John Myers, known to many as Rik, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on February 5, 2026.
He was a fun, loving, and adventurous man who touched many lives and always left people smiling. As a dad, he took great care of me and was always there when I needed him - with laughter, love, or simply open ears and arms. He was always chasing the next adventure, and usually dragging us into it with a smile.
After years of battling congestive heart failure, it was ultimately time for him to let go. Over the past few years, he lived and worked as an independent contractor in New York, where he was able to reconnect with old family and friends. Even while living far from me in Tennessee, he made every effort to stay present in my life and in his granddaughter's life through frequent phone calls and the occasional trip south.
If my dad ever brought you comfort, shared time with you, or touched your life in any way, we are asking you to please consider donating. Any amount, no matter how small, would mean so much and will go directly toward expenses related to his passing and memorial.
Thank you for your kindness, love, and support during this incredibly difficult time. Contribute
