Note sent to me from Richard’s friend…
Richard was a kind and generous human being. He helped my sister Rebecca maintain her house, tending to the yard and handyman projects. When it came time to move my sister into assisted living, Richard was there every step of the way.
Over the last three years, my wife Susan and I came to have a close friendship with Richard. We helped each other in many ways, as true friends do. He helped us move in to my sister’s house. I took him to many places when he needed a lift. He lent us many tools, and he even gave us a brand-new dehumidifier to safekeep my sisters paintings in her basement. We helped cut through the local, state and Federal red tape in securing a copy of his birth certificate and state ID. We all went together to secure our free SEPTA passes as senior citizens. We were guests of his and Val’s last year at Thanksgiving. They gave us so much food and we were so grateful for their kindness. We shared a love of music and animals, and our dog was always happy to greet Richard when he visited. We will miss his gentle good humor. We will miss him so much.
