Richard D. Hessler left this life on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 after a short illness. 

He was predeceased by his parents, Louise & Albert Hessler, his brother Robert "Bob" Hessler, and his daughter Kimberly Mazzitelli. He is survived by his sisters, Diane (Dale) Peters and Joan (Gaston) Porterie. He also leaves behind his daughters Tammy (Aram) Groves, Erika (Robert) Sobin, and Cheryl (John) Biscaino and grandchildren Nick & Jordan Groves, Ashley & Kaitlyn Sobin, Gabriela & Makayla Biscaino, Kassie Prina, and Mercedes Mazzitelli as well as many dear friends. 

Richard worked at Uniroyal from his younger years until his retirement, but couldn't sit still after that, and continued to work in maintenance and other hands-on jobs for many years. He will be remembered for his love of oldies & classic country music, all things outdoors, his generosity to friends & neighbors, and his sarcastic, if not corny, sense of humor. There was nothing he couldn't make, build, or fix. He will be missed immensely. 

Information on celebration of life & spreading of ashes per his wishes will be shared when the weather is warmer.
