Richard A. Harwin, age 70, of Citrus Hills, FL, lost his battle with Alzheimer’s disease surrounded by the love of his family on Thursday, February 18, 2021.

Richard spent most of his life in the New York and New Jersey area before retiring to the warmth. He was at his happiest spending time with his wife, family and friends. He loved to travel and play tennis. His family and friends valued his friendliness, generosity of spirit and caring nature.

He worked as an attorney in the beginning of his career and then for the majority of his working life as a business owner. He took pride in growing the company, AKA Pest Control, a commercial pest control company in NYC and supporting those who worked for him. He used his company and position to offer opportunity to people he believed needed a second chance. Upon the sale of the company in 2018, it was imperative to him to be able to ensure that all of his employees had an active role in the new company. Even after retirement and towards the end of his life, he constantly talked about needing to help people.

He was preceded in death by his parents Martin and Miriam; and father-in-law Charles Tesser. He is survived by his wife Bonnie; his children Michael, and his wife Laura; Alison, and her husband Jason; and Melissa; his grandchildren Jonah, Eli, Asher, Ryder and Logan; his siblings William and Robert; his mother-in-law Doris Tesser; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Lewis and Marjorie Tesser; as well as his many beloved nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

We are comforted knowing that the beautiful man that we all knew and loved is at peace.
