Dick has been a friend of mine for over 60 years. We have always kept in touch. He was a wonderful kind and loving friend. I will forever miss you Dick. Glad I got to talk to you not too long ago. Rest in peace my friend.

I’ll never forget when we had a family get together at claim jumper (don’t remember the occasion) and I was maybe a sophomore or junior in high school. I brought my best friend to the dinner and when we arrived I introduced her to grandpa. I said “This is my Grandpa Dick” to which he responded with “Yeah, but you can call me Big Dick”. I had never been so embarrassed and proud at the same time. Forever the coolest dude to ever live.
