On October 3rd, 2020 at the age of 74, Richard Harley "Unkie" Jones was called home to be with the Lord after a long battle with kidney disease. Richard resided with his nephew and his wife, Edward and Amanda Hicks, and their son Joseph "Joe" Hicks of Durham, North Carolina.

Richard loved spending time with his family, spoiling his 3 year old great nephew Joe, watching Nascar and western movies, camping, fishing and eating Amanda's fried chicken. He was the heart and soul of the family home.

Richard is predeceased by his mother and father, Rosa & Herbert Jones, two brothers, J.E and Raymond Jones, and his loving wife and soulmate of 25 years, Susan Jones.

He is survived by his two sisters, Rose Jones, Jeanette and Rob Sitzler, his nephew Edward Hicks and wife Amanda Hicks, and his great nephew, Joseph "Joe" Hicks.
