It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Hall, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and respected professional, who died on December 30, 2024, at the age of 76. Richard was born on April 9, 1948, in Fontainebleau, France. Shortly after his birth, his family made the move to Lancaster, Pennsylvania where he was raised. After many years spent in the New England area as an adult and family man, he and his wife Mary settled down in Crystal Lake, Illinois, where they raised their family and he continued his successful career, becoming an admired figure in the business community.
Richard had a long and successful career as a wire and cable industry executive for Champlain Cable. His expertise, dedication, and integrity earned him the respect of his colleagues and clients alike. Throughout his career, Richard was known for his hard work, strong relationshipsand innovative solutions to turning companies around.
Above all, Richard was a devoted family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary, his daughter, Emilie (Brad) , and his two sons, Andrew (Keri) and Nicholas (Krista). He also leaves behind six cherished grandchildren: Lily, Hannah, Tyler, Parker, Makayla, and Stockton. His family was his greatest joy, and his legacy lives on through their lives and the memories they share of him.
Outside of his professional life, Richard enjoyed a variety of passions that brought him immense joy and a continuous thirst for learning. He loved to travel the world, often with a novel by his side, embracing the adventure of new places and cultures. An avid golfer, Richard could often be found on the course, enjoying a round with friends and family. He also had a fondness for gambling. Anything from a family card game, horses at the track or football on TV, he could always be counted on to place a wager. Additionally, Richard was a gifted cook who found joy in preparing his specialties for those he loved, always bringing people together over good food and great conversation.
Richard was a man of strong principle—honest, direct, and unwavering in his beliefs. He was quick-witted, with a sharp sense of humor that could light up any room, and he had a generosity of spirit that made him beloved by those who knew him. His presence was larger than life, and his loyalty and kindness left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
