I want to wish Marion, Kim, Leslie, and Dean my deepest sympathies.  I met Marion and Mike when I lived in Springfield, Va and Kim was baby-sitting for me.  Kim spent a summer with us in the beautiful northwest when we moved back to Seattle in 1974.

I have many fond memories of Mike. I will always remember the time he took me duck hunting in Utah, Mule deer hunting in the Wasatch mountains, and fly fishing for giant trout in the San Juan River in New Mexico.

I remember him speaking at a community event in Ogden, Utah. He was a great public speaker. He was a leader in his church, community, and forestry career. He was a veteran and a good strong Democrat. I will miss him.

In lieu of flowers

In lieu of flowers, consider a gift to Lois's Legacy.

You have always been my hero, Dad. No one else on earth will ever know what we went through the last three years of your life. You gave me a heavy load to carry. I carried that load because of the love I have for you and the respect and dignity you deserve.   Love, Leslie

I have so many strong positive memories of time with Uncle Mike, and I think of him often. Highlights include a tour  of Washington DC as a kid, a backpacking trip in the Bridger Wilderness when I was 15, and conversations full of advice and stories during college, my grad school years, and beyond. Plus, a flood of wonderful memories connected to the Mondeaux cabin. My thoughts are with you all in appreciation of Uncle Mike and celebration of a life well lived.

Every memory I have of my uncle Mike brings a smile. My thoughts are with Leslie, Kim, Dean and especially Aunt Marion as Mike joins mom and Aunt Peggy in preparing the way for the rest of us.  Phoebe Carroll
