Richard Wayne Griggs, 80 of Asheville NC, passed away at home on Novermber 19,2020.  Richard was a loving father to his four children, Michelle Browning , Susan Hagopian, Craig Griggs and Ricky Griggs (deceased).  Also, his cherished grandchildren Jerica Browning, Kendra Theriault, Chelsea Theriault, Michael Griggs, Haley Griggs and John Griggs and his great grandchild Vera Demers.

Born on November 16, 1940, Richard is the son of the late Thelma and George Grigg and his surving  brother George Grigg, sisters; Wanda Roberts, Debbie Springer and the late Nancy Waycaster and Pam Lamb.

Richard served in the US Marines for 4 years, and worked in the Christmas ordament industry for most of his life starting in Woonsocket RI at Coby Glass, was later promoted and transferred to Poplar Bluff, MO as plant manager for their new division Noelle Decorations and finished his career at Raush Industries in Gastonia, NC.  

Richard then went back home to Asheville, NC  to retire close to his family.

Richard was an avid fisherman, card player, dancer (in his day), gardener and loved country music, football and Nascar . He always had a good story or a joke to tell and was always the life of a party.  

Richard chose not to have any funeral services and was cremated.  

His family meant everything to him and he will be missed by all.
