Doug's obituary

Richard Douglas “Doug” Gephart, 68, passed away on December 2, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born on March 25, 1957, in Bucyrus, Ohio, to Marjorie and Richard Gephart, Doug lived a life defined by devotion to his family, a deep appreciation for the water, and a strength that left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Doug was known for his sharp wit and a candid, warm spirit that endeared him to many. His laughter, his guidance, and his ability to bring joy into ordinary moments will forever be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

He found his truest peace near the water—whether exploring coastlines with his family or spending time at Table Rock Lake, a place that became central to countless memories. Doug valued the simple moments: time on the lake with family and friends, a good football game, great music, and the company of the people he cared about most. He shared these passions generously, teaching his girls the ropes of boating and, more importantly, teaching his family to appreciate life’s beauty, to be kind, and to treat others with fairness and respect.

Family was the center of Doug’s world. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who took great pride in guiding and caring for his loved ones, ensuring they always felt supported, protected, and deeply cherished. His life was marked by unwavering dedication and a commitment to giving his daughters a life filled with joy, adventure, and lasting memories. His steady presence, his love, and the experiences he created will remain a lasting legacy for his children and grandchildren.

Doug is survived by his wife, Theresa Gephart; his daughters Tiffany Gapske, Nicole Gephart, and Danielle Gephart; his son-in-law Andrew Gapske; and his grandchildren Braylen, Carson, and Nora. He is also survived by his siblings Connie Spangler, John Gephart, and Karen Griffin.

Doug will be remembered for his strength, generosity, humor, and the steadfast love he had for his family. His impact will remain in the lives he touched and the memories that continue to bring comfort and light. Until we meet again, he will live on in our hearts.
