Richard's obituary
Richard grew up in the town of Atwater, Ohio on his parent’s farm. He loved to share stories and always found the fun in life. Richard was an active participant in the High School marching band. Richard received his BA from the college (now University) of Mount Union in 1970. Richard managed several retail businesses including Woolworth, Leewards, JoAnn Fabrics, and Dollar Tree. Richard moved to Saline Michigan in the 80’s to open his own franchise of Ben Franklin until the company dissolved. Richard retired in September of 2016 from Dollar Tree. Richard loved to travel with his wife, Beverly who he happily married on July 7, 2008. They were able to go many different places including getting him out of the continental US for the first time on a cruise 2 years ago. Richard was an active member of Milan Baptist Church and really enjoyed participating in the senior life meetings, men’s bible studies, and activities such as the harvest party. He always talked about his children and always considered them as his own.
