Richard's obituary

Richard G (Boog) Mayor,  age 46 of Portland Oregon passed away in Portland from complications after a seizure on November 4th 2023.

He was born in Grants Pass, but lived in the little town of Wolf Creek Oregon. Born on June 28th 1977 to Wilma Gibson and Richard Mayor.

Boog and his brother Nick spent their childhood doing typical kid stuff, and some not so typical kid stuff. When your parents aren't around, you have adventures, and that they did! Great stories of them doing crazy kid stuff.

Boog had quite a few different jobs, but the one he liked the most was working at Golden West billiards with his friends Brian and Nathan Moyer.

He was into riding his bike, made him feel free he said. Was a huge Toyota fan. He had the symbol tattooed on his calf. He also enjoyed going to lunch with Brian E, and going fast in Brian's Audi. In the last year or so, his seizures picked up, this was his favorite thing to do and he looked forward to Brian's days off.

Boog was always happy, had a rough childhood just because parents weren't around. He did have a sweet Grandma in which he reunited with in 2014. I believe this was a huge highlight in Boog's life. He searched for her for a long time before going down to Santa Maria California. He got to see his cousins and some Aunts and Uncles that he hadn't seen in nearly 30 years. He was so happy to make the trip and see them. Grandma took care of him after he was hit by a car at age 5. He was in a full body cast. She told him all about it. Also told him where Boog came from. Boog is actually short for Boogie. She said when he was a baby, he would scoot across the floor on his diaper and she said, "he sure can Boogie." He loved hearing that. He  learned a lot he didn't know or remember. Truly a highlight in his life. Grandma passed away at age 91 a month after he   made the trip. So, he got to go back. Lisa's Mom funded both trips. She wanted him to find them so bad. It absolutely warmed her heart to see Boog so happy. Lisa's Mom was extremely important to Boog. He called her Warden. She adored him and would do anything for him, probably even break the law, their bond was something special. She passed away in January of this year. Boog truly struggled with that while staying strong for Lisa. Boog was everybody's friend!

Boog has 1 biological brother Nick Mayor, and KB is his  picked brother. KB had a step brother Brad, aka Magila, that meant the world to Boog. He passed away in the late 90's. Brad was everybody's friend as well. Just a happy guy that everyone loved.  He loved his brother's, blood or not. Boog will also be missed dearly by his dog Millie.

Boog and Lisa were together for almost 25 years. Soul mates from meeting each other over the phone when he called for Scott. They were rarely seen apart. Truly enjoyed doing everything in life together.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, December 2nd at Treehill Day School at 3:00 pm. Address is 23802 NE Treehill Dr Wood Village Oregon 97060. Please join us for Boog's favorite food and snacks. Beer is welcome. Come share your fond memories of Boog. He will be greatly missed.
