Richard's obituary

On November 11, 2023, Richard (Dick) Stanley Fisher was peacefully called home to his Lord and Savior from his home in Bakersfield.

Born as Richard Pomeroy on December 2, 1938, to Gerene J. Deen and Mark E. Pomeroy in Hood River OR. Dick understood selflessness at a very young age.

In the Spring of 1947, Gerene met and married Carl Wesley Fisher and the family moved to Northern California. It was at that time that Dick took the Fisher name as his own and began working alongside Carl in the logging industry for many years.

In the Summer of 1981 Dick went into trucking until 2015.

Proceeded in death by his wife Sharon Townsend, his parents Gerene and Carl Fisher, and two brothers Ronnie and Dean.

Dick is survived by his four children, Renae Jean Magaña (Santiago +), Rachelle Joy Duitsman (Jack), Robin Jennine Lyons (Terry), and Jeffrey Michael Fisher, thirteen grandchildren and thirty-four great grandchildren, brother Michael Fisher, sister Carla Fisher Smith, and many nieces and nephews.

In his nearly 85 years of life, Dick touched the lives of many with his generosity and love. He asked for very little in return and was a dear friend to all who knew him. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those he loved and those who loved him back.

A memorial service will be held in his honor on December 2, 2023, at Northside Community Church in Bakersfield, CA at 1:30PM.
