Richard's obituary

Our beloved Husband, Father, Brother and Friend, Richard Ennis, entered into the arms of Jesus on June 19, 2022. Those who knew him, witnessed his struggle with End Stage Renal Failure since February 2012. He suddenly passed away from Congestive Heart Failure.

Richard was born to Pearl Shirley Howard and Robert Stanley Ennis on March 17, 1955 in Elmira, NY. He attended Odessa Montour and in his senior year, took classes at Boces for Woodworking and Carpentry. In 1972, Richard met Janet, his loving wife and they went on to have 6 children, Christine (Bruce Hudson), Jennifer (Jeremy Hill), Loreen (Josh Miner), Daniel (Chelsea Newton), Roselyn (Ryan Campbell) and Hannah (Spencer King). He found a passion and career in logging and running his sawmill. Early in life, our father learned the importance of hard work and he instilled that same work ethic in his children. He was always there for us, whether we needed help with our broken down car or just a listening ear. He had so much love to give and he taught us the importance of family, hard work and being there for those who need us. Our father was a true role model who we will always look up to. When he wasn't working or spending time with his children, he could be found fishing, hunting, working on a piece of machinery, watching an old western movie, or chatting with a friend over a cup of coffee. Richard joins his father Robert, mother Shirley, sister Jane Seymour, and brother David Ennis in Heaven. He is survived by many loving family members, including his wife Janet Ennis, his children, his 16 grandchildren (and counting) and brothers Larry and Donald Ennis. Please join us as we celebrate his life at Peoples Baptist Church in Newfield on June 24, 2022 at 3:00 (visiting with family at 2:00).

We would also like to thank our dear friends who poured time, love and laughter into his life (and Ours!). We know that he cherished your friendship deeply.
